+Look in the mirror:
Maria gives off a very motherly appearance. She wears fine dresses and usually keeps her hair back in either a braid or a bun. She loves jewelry, but rarely buys it since she makes it herself. Her skin is tanned from the sun and she is always seen with a smile on her face in front of others.
You have to have a reason, something you care about, something that is more important than anything.
+A childhood:
Maria was born to the normal life of humans, her family enjoyed living among others. She had friends, crushes, but her parents never allowed her to get involved with other men. She was destined to be with the prince. It was who she was, and she accepted it when she was 17. When she first met Ulric, she wanted desperately to leave and abandon the tradition of their families. Her family's honor though held her in check.
Ulric had become power hungry when their son was born, she was afraid that Ulric would polute the poor boy's mind and teach him the wrong ways to do things. So, plotting with a maid, they managed to get the boy from the castle where the maid traveled by horse all the way to Heaven's Gates where the boy was left on the doorstep of a middle class human. They replaced him the body of another, no they didn't kill a child, and the king barely seemed to flinch at the news, but he hated children from there on, and angry that they were so fragile. Maria still lives at the castle, rulling by Ulric's side, but her once lively personality has dwindled.
+How I act around others:
Maria used to be joyful and full of life before Ulric, now she is timid, quiet, and does what is asked of her without a questioning glance. Though she puts on a good show for company, she is pretty dull when alone. She disagrees with Ulric on many things, but dares not state them.
