For light to shine so brightly,
"I like to be in control, like anyone else, but I try to achieve a balance."
the darkness must be present.

With confidence, you have won before you have started.
+A childhood: Tareq came from originally the streets, living with a couple of other 'street rats'. They stole what they needed to survive, messed with the guards when they made their rounds, and just did what they needed to do when they needed to do it. Tareq mostly stayed around with two other guys, Logan and David; David was nearly ten years older that Tareq and Logan was somewhere between the two. The trio were like brothers and completely inseperable.
Tareq was 12 when everything just went horribly wrong. They had just stolen some bread from a wealthy baker and were on the run from a couple of guards. A shout of pain was heard and Tareq, whom was in the front, looked back to see Logan had fallen to the ground with an arrow in his chest. Heart-broken and teary-eyed, Tareq bolted away without looking back to see what had become of David.
Tareq left the city of Tanor and wandered down one of the roads to a smaller port city. There, he managed to survive on his own, but he was wracked with depression and debated a lot of the time why he bothered to stick around and keep fighting to live. Maybe it was for David and Logan, or maybe he just didn't have the courage to end it. Whatever it was, he couldn't find the answer, and just continued to wander the port he now lived in.
At age 15, he was found by a kind man and woman when he was just about starving to death since he had almost completely given up on trying to steal food. They took him in and made him healthy again, but there was nothing to do for the mental scars his life had left on him. They gave him his space, and over time he opened up to them more, especially when they brought him out to other places when they went to meet with other nobles.
They visited the king and queen one day when he was nearly 16, and that was the first time he saw her: Eleanor. He kept his distance, but he couldn't deny he thought she was just beautiful. But she was also the princess of Talenquine. So he would always just sit somewhere and watch her play with the other nobles' kids that came. Eventually she would always come to him instead, talk to him, try and find out more about him. Eventually he gave him and she finally understood. It was then they formed this completely new bond, a deep one.
Eleanor's parents, the king and queen, didn't like Tareq no matter how nice he was to them. But obviously that made no difference to Eleanor as the two grew into young adults. He proposed to her when they were in their early twenties and they lived happily even if Eleanor's parents didn't like it, and Tareq's adopted parents really didn't seem to care much about what the heck he did. It seemed like the years flew by before suddenly he found himself sitting on the throne. Even if he is the king, Eleanor really takes charge almost all the time and he just sits back to support her, for he has no experience in such things as running a country.
+How I act around others: Tareq is very withdrawn and is more of a silent type. He'd rather sit back and observe his surroundings than jump into a situation to try and get his opinion in. He isn't one for confrontation and will shy away from it until he's been completely cornered against a wall, only then will he fight back, and only then it'd only be enough to slip away from the situation.
+What I do with my life: King of Talenquine

+Oh, I almost forgot: N/A
