Ambition breaks the ties of blood,
"Sometimes a little white lie is necessary in telling the truth that is presentable to others."
and forgets the obligations of gratitude.

+A childhood: Fendrel was the youngest of three brothers in the Serpient family. He was the outcast of the bunch and also the trouble maker, always sticking his nose where it didn't belong and prying into the secrets of his family. He never got along well with his brothers and absolutely resented them, and the two older ones would always team up to pick on him. His parents never really cared what their children did and Fendrel was left to fend for himself almost all the time.
He grew up with that deep resentment and hate burning in his heart alongside the depression that he would never get the throne. His brothers always argued with one another over which would take it and it often ended up in physical fights between the two. It was joking at first, but...when they grew into their late teens, things got serious and one of the brothers killed the other. But he blamed the death of the brother on Fendrel, and since he was the 'black sheep' of the family, his parents believed the lie. His parents banished him from their house and he was left to fight for himself out in the world.
But it didn't last long. He soon came by a sweet girl at about his age, all alone in the cold of the winter. The two decided to stick together since they were both alone with no family to turn to. Her name was Helena. The two grew close as the years went by and Fendrel married her at the age of 24. He told her who he was and she demanded that he take the throne because 'it was his right' and his father was an awful man. And so the two came up with a plan and soon carried it out on January 16th, 2009; he would kill his family in order to take the throne. The deed was done by sunrise of January 17th, and Fendrel proclaimed himself king, claiming that his family died of a strange disease they had caught from the food--the cook was never the best anyways, so it was believable. He buried the bodies himself and at first didn't feel bad about it, but lately now it begins to tear him up inside. But he lives with it and always convinces himself he did it for a reason; to give the citizens of Alquer and the other islands a better life. He truly believes he's doing a good job.
+How I act around others: Fendrel is dark and corrupt, always believing that his way is the right way. He can be moody at times and you never see a smile on his face that isn't hinted with a nasty evil plan. He doesn't like people that try to get in his way and will have no problem taking them down, emotionally, mentally, or physically. His words drip with poison and he can use his words to get out of a bad situation that he doesn't like to be in--almost every time.
